Dion stepped into the world of GymBeat over 11 years ago, when he started to coach various recreational classes, tumbling, acro (acrobatics), cheer and competitive gymnastics levels 1 through 8.  He is considered amongst his coaching buddies of being a perfectionist! As Director of Cheer Tumbling, he ensures all his students obtain the correct skills to move on to the next level.

Dion grew up in the Central Valley, graduating with his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in communication from Fresno State.  He now teaches at both Fresno City College and Fresno State in LGBTQIA+ and Communications classes.

Not only are we proud of Dion’s academia, but his athleticism is something to boast about as well. He’s still tumbling round off backhand springs, back and front tucks and balance handstands. “Not bad for someone past his mid-20s!... but he’s still a baby” says the older 30, 40, 50 year old coaches at his favorite part time job!
