$1,000 Scholarship Award​

We are honored to invite all Gymnastics Beat members taking classes to apply for the Sydney Weakley Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 award celebrates athletic excellence, dedication, and the positive impact gymnastics has on young lives.

​

This scholarship honors the memory of Sydney Weakley, a beloved gymnast and team member whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident on January 1, 2017. Sydney's passion for gymnastics and her dedication to our community continue to inspire us. By applying for this scholarship, you help keep her spirit alive.

*The $1,000 scholarship will be applied to the recipient's Gymnastics Beat account to support continued training and classes.

Eligibility

✓ Must be a current Gymnastics Beat member taking classes
✓ All levels welcome - beginner through advanced
✓ Must submit application by December 15, 2025
✓ Must be enrolled at time of application and when recipient is selected

Application Requirements

Choose ONE submission format:

  • Written Essay (2-3 paragraphs) - Share your gymnastics journey, goals, and what being part of our community means to you.

  • Video Submission (30-60 seconds) - Reflect on your experience and growth through gymnastics.

Important Notes

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered

  • Late submissions will not be accepted

  • You must be a current Gymnastics Beat member at time of application and at time of award

  • The $1,000 will be applied to your Gymnastics Beat account for classes and training

Award Presentation

The recipient will be notified in January 2026. Sydney's family will present the scholarship in a special ceremony scheduled with the recipient.

​

We encourage all eligible athletes to apply. Your application honors Sydney's memory and the values she embodied: perseverance, dedication, and love for gymnastics.
